Suzy Kolber (born Suzanne Lisa Kolber) was born in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia on the 14th of May 1964. Her parents are Jewish. The age she is now at is 58. Sandra Kolber was her mother, and Gene Kolber was her father. She graduated from Upper Dublin High School in Pennsylvania, and Sandy Run Middle School. Then she graduated from the University of Miami in 1986 with an Associate of Arts degree in Telecommunications. In her first year of college she was offered the position as a sports director at Dynamic in Coral Gables Florida. She was also there for another two years between 1984 and 1986. In this time she was also a member of the water-ski team of the University of Miami. team. Plaza was active in Wilmington community theatre as when she was a young person, and performed improv, directed one-acts, and participated in other activities. After graduating from high school, she moved towards New York City where she was a student at the improv class of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and trained in television and film production at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts which she graduated from in. Her aphasia diagnosis was discovered at 20 years old, a short-term problem that limits her capacity to comprehend and express language.
