Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and singer since the early 1990s. Her first performances on Broadway include in the Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor and director, has spent the majority of her career working with famous directors and actors both on stage and screen. Ashford's next venture will be a limited-edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is in the production for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. This film is part of a Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The group behind Hamilton director Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the control of the show. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the national crisis that swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment hearings in over one century. She was the star of two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Other Broadway credits include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a Denver resident who splits his time in Los Angeles.
